The Old Course fairways have been reseeded with Poa Trivialis and are germinating after the rain fall very fast, some of these fairways have alrealdy two to three cm high Poa. This reseeding will improve the colour and the texture of our fairways.  

The roughs; particulary in locations where summers tend to be droughty and on sites with sandy, droughty soil we have to reseed not with the centrifugal spreader but with a seeding machine to bring the seed a few mm deep, otherwise the seed will be blown away or washed away with the rainfall.

This procedure is time -taking but the result will be much better. At the moment we reseeded the rough of 10 holes, still 8 to go so around Thursday next week we will finish this procedure.

This important work is taking many extra-hours of the staff .
